Abstract

Although the micro system technology (MST) is considered the "key technology of the 21st century" it has still failed to achieve a breakthrough. The present article describes the challenges caused by skaled-down component dimensions which technical logistics has to face. Furthermore, it presents the results of a study which the university chair MTL has carried out in various MST companies to analyse the existing material flow technology and to identify deficites.
