In the machinery and plant engineering industry sin-gle and small series production is prevailing. There-fore both long-term cooperation partners as well as order-specific, international partners and suppliers have to be involved in the production of complex products. The objective within the research project “PIP” is to develop a method assisting small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) in the identification and selection of partners and suppliers with a minimum of effort as well as in the assessment of possible project risks. The present article describes logistical challenges of designing project-specific production networks and solutions for improved planning and risk assessment of such collaborations.Downloads
