For an assessment of products and product systems in engineering not only technical characteristics but more and more the environmental impact of the systems are important. These requirements have increased the demand for sustainable and environmentally friendly construction materials in mechanical engineering. One possibility for such ecologically beneficial materials represents selected wood materials. These wood materials will be developed technical products, which opened the company the opportunity to increase their business contribution to sustainable and to achieve economic benefits. Through this approach, a certain amount of resource and energy efficiency is connected, the economically is worth in the short term and / or long term. A related social image enhancement produces an additional benefit. The so-called GLP (Green Logistics Plant), this type of timber construction is being developed and applied in the field of conveyor. An example of application within the GLP represents the frame system for a skid conveyor. To investigate the ecological impact of construction materials transparent and comprehensible the categories warming potential and primary energy demand will be used. Furthermore, the impact categories acidification, eutrophication, summer smog and ozone depletion are analyzed. Complementing to existing studies seeks to determine the ecological benefits of wood veneer composite materials (WVC), mild steel, galvanized steel and aluminum alloys in the production phase of life. Subsequently the results are transmitted to the frame of a skid conveyor system from WVC and structural steel.Downloads
