Zukunftsfähigkeit der Wertstrommethode im Kontext von Industrie 4.0

Abstract

Value Stream Mapping (VSM) is very commonly used in production driven industries to ensure transparency in material and information flows and to identify optimization potential. As a result of the ongoing digitalization phase, Lean Management methods have become obsolete at times. A structured analysis of the literature does not offer any empirical data referring to this. Therefore, a quantitative survey with 170 participants has been conducted to evaluate current challenges in the production environment and the general understanding of the term Industry 4.0 as well as the compatibility of Industry 4.0 with Lean Management. Furthermore the status quo and the adequacy of VSD in the future has been scrutinized. In the current paper, selected results are shown and put up for discussion.
