Abstract

A method is introduced with which continuous random variables can be represented and linked with one another. The distribution functions of the random variables are approximated using a Finite Element approach in a finite interval [tmin; tmax]. As an example, two stochastically independent random variables are added by numerical computation of the convolution integral of their probability density functions.
